Quickly growing into the main institution for all things music related in the region, MDLBEAST is expanding its influence into the realm of distribution and property rights. Aiming at supporting artists from across the creative spectrum— from producers to beat-makers, singers, and songwriters— this new venture aims to come in aid of sonic creators by addressing often neglected aspects of the music industry. These include broadcasting rights, intellectual property management, and the protection of financial rights.
To strengthen its latest endeavor, aptly named MDLBEAST Publishing, the Saudi-based conglomerate has called on various organizations, including Sentric— an independent British music publisher specialized in upcoming artists— to tackle challenges related to broadcast, performance, and author rights all with the goal of ensuring that artists, both in the spotlight and behind the scenes, receive their rightful earnings from their work.
MDLBEAST’s COO and head of music, Talal Albahiti, described the initiative as a “pioneering and unique model in the music publishing sector” for both Saudi Arabia and the region in general. “With the recent launch of MDLBEAST FM Radio, our music brand partnerships team, and the recording studios at Beast House in JAX, we now offer a comprehensive range of services to meet the commercial development needs of the creative community, artists, music producers, and songwriters,” he explained.
According to him, the initiative will play a pivotal role in enhancing the commercial appeal and accessibility of its already-existing catalog— which features over 300 master rights — while leveraging it to introduce Middle Eastern and North African sounds to global audiences. With the intention to expand their market presence beyond the region’s geographic borders, this new effort might be the catalyzing stone missing in the Arab World’s journey towards a fairer industry, and we can’t wait to see it in action.
