Months ahead of its next edition, renowned music platform MDLBEAST is bringing its famed Xchange concept back. Expected to make its Maghrebi debut next month in Tunisia from June 7-8, the regional series of workshops, which takes place annually across four cities in the Arab World, aims to foster collaboration and learning in the music industry by providing a platform for artists, producers, and industry professionals to network, share knowledge, and explore new creative opportunities.
In its second tour of the Arab World since its inception last year, Xchange will be landing in the tiny Mediterranean State to expand its reach and impact onto this side of North Africa for the first time. The sonic gathering, which is free of charge— though participants are carefully handpicked via a quick application process— has already shared its timetable, and from what has been teased so far, the two-day-long event promises to be an immersive experience filled with enlightening panel discussions and interactive Q&A sessions, culminating with a farewell concert.

Some of the themes and topics of conversation for this edition include discussions on the role of women in music, a comprehensive evaluation of the local music scene from its strengths to weaknesses, and avenues for improvement, as well as the vital promotion of homegrown artists during the closing concert on the second night.
In partnership with women-led initiatives HUNNA and FEMENA Network, as well as Tunis-based art station B7L9, the chosen venue for the event, MDLBEAST is reaffirming its status of leading instance for all things music-related in the region, as well as a true catalyzing body that promotes inclusivity on all stages.
The second leg of their annual tour, following Kuwait this month and Tunisia next, Xchange is scheduled to make its mark in Morocco come September, followed by a final gathering in Riyadh which will take place at XP Music Features on Dec. 5-7.
