Two of the most-talked about brands in the region right now — Medina and Shabab — are joining forces to host an exclusive pop-up together in London. Taking place across four days between Aug. 21 – 24, both streetwear specialists announced teaming up to showcase a selection of their signature pieces along with a few collaborative garments, presented for the first, and only time, at this one-off event.
From what we know, the experience promises to be a blend of music and fashion — disciplines that happen to be at the core of both Shabab and Medina’s identities. Adding to the excitement, a special surprise is set to be unveiled exclusively for attendees, though details remain tightly under wraps for now.
Following the announcement of this joint venture, all eyes have been locked on the collaborative long-sleeve t-shirt that’s expected to drop at the pop-up. Marrying Shabab’s sartorial know-how with Medina’s signature crochet techniques, the piece is already being hailed as the stand-out item of this limited-edition line, and that is, despite the fact that we don’t know what else they have in store for us. Unreleased jackets, trousers, jumpers and tees, from past collections will also be put up for grabs, giving attendees a rare opportunity to own designs that may never be seen or put on sale ever again.
“This collaboration is an embrace of bond, intention, detail and design. We are joining worlds while celebrating each other’s individuality,” Zainab Hasoon, Shabab director, told MILLE. “It’s a reminder to activate your dreams, look out for one another and wear your friends’ creations,” she added.
Free of charge, the event is expect to pull in a crowd from across the Arab creative spectrum in the U.K., making it the meeting point for all those ready to step into the scene, share ideas, and link with peers pushing the region’s scene forward from London.
