More Movement, Less Structure For Patou’s Fall 2025 RTW Collection

With the Eiffel Tower perching over our shoulders, we made our way to take-in French luxury label Patou’s Fall 2025 Ready-to-Wear during Paris Men’s Fashion Week. In a gallery-looking room, bayed with glass, and filled with square-shaped seats and human-size mirrors, red-tinted lights dimmed a split space through which models were about to step. Normal lights are now back on, returning to their usual crisp white glow, and the show starts, teasing which cuts and silhouettes creative director Guillaume Henry has envisioned for this season.

Attended by a star-studded crowd, celebrities scurried inside the venue to escape Paris’ frigid temperatures. Vogue’s editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, made an appearance, her iconic sunglasses still firmly in place even though the sun had set a long while ago. French-Algerian influencer and opinion leader Léna Mahfouf was also spotted, either posing for photographers or answering interviewing questions before the event kicked off. But it was American actress Katie Holmes who in the end managed to steal the show with a blue button-up shirt she wore backwards, paired with an ocean blue handle-bag and a brown leather coat.

Less structure, more movement was the order of the day, with long jackets, flowing skirts and oversize pieces dominating the overall aesthetic of the new line, despite a few looks that remained sharply tailored. Hip-reaching blazers were paired with chocolate brown maxis, overcoats reached ankle-level, and though dresses were, on the other hand, much shorter in length than their counterparts, they were met with tall leather boots, which kept the idea of structure alive within such a fluid collection.

Across a palette of dark tones, rare splashes of color would occasionally cut through the runway— crimson red box-shaped shirts, glossy orange leather coats, bordeaux shoulder bags, and ivory or off-white coats and skirts— bringing a dash of life in an otherwise quite muted collection. For most looks, black served as the foundation, occasionally punctuated by brighter-hued accents— such as carrot orange or white on the double-layered shoulders of the trench coat, and red fur on the cuffs and hood of the knee-length leather jacket. That said, the most memorable pieces of Patou’s latest collection include a jacket, fastened with golden metal buckles worn over wool or faux leather;  a sombrero-shaped hat that’s falls onto the shoulders and ties under the neck; and a shiny shin-covering pair of boots that, to us at least, were the icing on the cake.

Exploring a style that is reminiscent of Paris’ very own, through silhouettes that reflect the city’s chic, confidence, and elegance, Patou’s fall 2025 RTW collection carries forward a legacy from the brand’s archives, into the present, with the same signature details and spirit reworked for today— and we’re here for it.
