Morocco’s Mawazine Festival Announces More Artists

The festival that’s had Whitney Houston and The Weeknd

With some of the world’s biggest talent always on its roster, the annual Mawazine Festival has always drawn in the biggest crowds and some of the industry’s biggest names – and this year will be no exception.

Last year’s edition saw Grammy Award winner Bruno Mars, The Weeknd and French Montana take to the stage and perform to a crowd of over 2.5 million people. And this year’s roster is even more exciting, with Colombian artists Karol G and Maluma announced to perform on the closing weekend.

American DJ Marshmello will make his Morocco debut at Mawazine’s OLM Souissi stage the same weekend. The festival, which is held between the cities of Rabat and Sale, will take place across six venues starting June 21.

Organized by non-profit organisation Maroc Cultures, under the patronage of King Mohammed VI, the festival has grown over the years into the world’s second largest music festival, and Africa’s biggest. Although international talent has always raked in the crowds, the festival has always made it a point to highlight Moroccan artists, so keep a look out as they release the full line-up.
