Founded a year ago by Moroccan photographer and director Ilyes Griyeb, and producer Mohamed Sqalli, Naar is the groundbreaking Paris-based collective connecting Moroccan rappers with European artists, shedding light on the region’s fastest growing rap scene. Since the release of their first Griyeb-directed music video Money Call—which featured Shobee, Madd and Parisian rising star Laylow—the Moroccan rappers, who are famed for their auto-tuned vocals are going head first towards global domination.
The collective’s new track Kssiri, is taken from their upcoming debut EP entitled ‘Safar’ which will be out this Spring. Naar present a killer new video shot in Morocco’s Agafay desert. Featuring French rap heavyweight Dosseh, Morocco’s favourite Small X and subversive French-Algerian blogger Lisa Bouteldja, famed for her provocative IG apparitions through which she reclaims the derogatory term beurette.
