National Geographic is Looking for the Next Arab Steve McCurry

Calling all upcoming and emerging artists

Since National Geographic’s establishment in 2001,  the magazine has supported burgeoning photographers, becoming the driving force behind some of the world’s most esteemed photographers from Ami Vitale to Steve McCurry.

Today, National Geographic Abu Dhabi is looking for the next generation of photographers  to join them. As part of their annual photography competition ‘Moments’, the platform is on the hunt for young Arab photographers, from the age of 13 years old upwards.

The theme of this year is the souq, inviting photographers to capture the diversity and stories of markets within the Arab world, from Dubai’s gold souqs to Morocco’s colourful spice markets.

The best bit? It’s super easy to enter the competition. It’s done directly on their website, where you’ll be asked to enter a caption  alongside a photograph that must have been taken in the past 1 year. Closing date is 27 July 2019.
