Following her recent win in the Indian Wells defeating her Russian equivalent Anna Kalinskaya, Tunisian Tennis player Ons Jabeur’s brilliant progress in the competition means that she will soon be breaking into the ATP’s top 10 current players as soon as the list is updated next week.
Adding another successful notch to her belt, Jabeur, who had already been crowned with the title of being the first Arab to reach the final eight of a Grand-Slam as well as the first to have put her hands on a WTA title is also about to be the first, male and female, tennis player from the region to make it to the top 10 ranking ever.
“I hope I can inspire the new generation. Not so many players from my country play. So, if I’m here today, you guys can make it. Work hard, believe in yourself, and you’re gonna be there.” the 27-year-old said in a statement
Championing in our hearts as much as she is on the court, Ons’ road to glory can only be labelled as uplifting and only wishing for more talented athletes to take inspiration from the icon in the making.
