Fashion week buzz might incessantly revolve around heritage fashion houses like Chanel and Dior, but there’s much more to the industry beyond their runways.

From Central Saint Martins graduates like Benjamin Benmoyal and Paolina Russo making their fashion week debut to emerging labels like Nicholas Coutts and Kevin Germanier, we’re keeping our eyes peeled on the low-key designers and labels showcasing their collections away from frantic media fuss.

To dig in deeper, we met up with Dubai-based stylist Osama Chabbi. The Tunisian stylist’s signature looks are underpinned by pairing up the biggest fashion houses with more niche designer items. Think: Louis Vuitton with MSGM or Craig Green alongside regional streetwear favourites like Precious Trust and Shabab International.

Al Chabbi, who’s already worked with major brands like Bvlgari and Amina Muaddi, teamed up with MILLE to tell us his favourite emerging fashion brands of the moment.

Bouguessa

“Bouguessa merges tailoring, allure and slickness by reinterpreting classics of the menswear vestiaire in a more feminine way, it’s the true definition of ready to wear to me,” says Al Chabbi. “If Old-Céline and modest clothing had a baby, this would be it.”

Palomo Spain

“The label truly offers a progressive update to the menswear closet, noticed for its play on volumes, lace and its signature button ups. The house is also accessible for women and does great easy-to-wear. It’s one of those brands that make fashion fun again. Spotted recently on Harry Styles, it’s definitely on the radar.”

AGR

“A seasonal favorite, the brand specializes in knits—but not just any kind. it’s bright, it’s colorful and it’s psychedelic. Adding a bit of craze to this gloomy year, the label is unisex and has a wide selection of ribbed staples.”

BODE

“Conscious fashion is a big thing this year and Bode has definitely been a key player amongst the upcoming sustainable niche brands,” states Al Chabbi. “Everything is handcrafted and cut from antique fabrics, quilts, bed linens and even grain sacks. Pretty insane.”

“Looking for what to wear on your next tropical escape, look no further. The brand was seen on the Kardashian-Jenner clan over the summer and literally became a summer sensation. From swimwear to eclectic dreamy prints, the designer takes her inspiration from surf wear and anything related to water. Louisa Ballou is absolutely not your average swimwear label.”
