Qasimi Brings Classic Arab Literature to Life with Their Latest Collection

The Emirati label strikes again

London Fashion Week quickly came and gone, but Qasimi left a lasting impression this year. The Emirati menswear label unveiled their latest collection entitled ‘Between Ashes and Roses’, and we’re impressed.

Spearheaded by Hoor Al-Qasimi, who took creative control of the brand after her late brother’s passing in 2019, was inspired by the Syrian Adonis’s 2004 book called ‘A Time Between Ashes and Roses’.

The book, which was originally published in 1970, brought Adonis critical acclaim. The fable poet, whose real name is Ali Ahmad Said Esber, has since been known as one of the greatest living Arab poets, and Al-Qasimi brought his work to life.

In designing the unisex collection Al Qasimi didn’t shy away from color this season. Models strutted down the runway in hues of pink and mulberry to peach and saffron. And in a subtle nod to the label’s Emirati heritage, the collection featured tarbooshas—woven tassels worn by Emirati men—which dangled off structured jackets among other pieces.

The runway was filmed at St. Ann’s Court, a country estate in Surrey surrounded by bold flowers, complimenting the collection’s colorway.
