Just a few days after Rabanne unveiled its intricately made metallic fringe and knight-like spring 2024 ready-to-wear collection during Paris Fashion Week, Creative Director Julien Dossena is treating fans to another coveted collection— a collaboration with Swedish high street retailer H&M. The announcement was marked by a surprise party on Monday night, where Robyn and Peggy Gou, as well as Cher performed at Paris’s Silencio nightclub.
Rabanne’s re-editions of past ready-to-wear, designs, and accessories will be available for women and men, as well as a homeware line, a new venture for Dossena. Additionally, the collaboration will include many of the Spanish luxury house’s signature codes such as disc-o-rama dresses. Teaser images show snippets of a paillete-covered slip dress, a chainmail maxi dress, a gold sequined mini skirt and bra top, as well as more distinctive Rabanne pieces, all evoking the swinging ‘70s.
In an interview with Vogue, Ann-Sofie Johansson, creative director at H&M, describes the collection as “hedonistic and fun and light and effortless and timeless.” She adds, “We really thought about inclusivity and diversity and how we can play around with those in a way that was part Jimi Hendrix, part David Bowie, part Helmut Newton, and part Grace Coddington in the pool.”
Rabanne x H&M will launch worldwide and on hm.com on Nov. 9th.
