When it comes to Ralph Lauren, it’s more than just a brand. It’s a whole world, where every detail is thought out. You know that feeling when you turn onto Madison Avenue at 72nd Street and see the Rhinelander Mansion? This grand French Renaissance building from the 1890s that Ralph Lauren restored in the ’80s. That’s the men’s flagship, and it really does feel like a temple to his vision. Then, right across the street at 888 Madison Avenue, there’s the Women’s & Home flagship, which opened in 2010. The first thing you notice isn’t the clothes but the smell of coffee from Ralph’s Coffee drifting out— a detail that just makes it feel so Ralph. Everything about those two boutiques reminds me why this brand is so tied to the idea of Americana.
When I moved to New York in 2012, I got invited to my very first American Thanksgiving. The first thought that came to mind was, I need to wear Ralph Lauren. That’s how deeply the brand was linked in my head with this idea of American culture.

So it wasn’t really a surprise that this year’s Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear show pulled us even deeper into that universe. It was held inside Ralph Lauren’s headquarters on East 61st Street. From the outside it’s just another corporate building, but once the elevator doors opened, you were somewhere else entirely. Wood-paneled walls, portraits and paintings setting the tone, and then rows of white seats with crisp cushions against a minimalist backdrop set the stage for the collection to take the spotlight.
The show opened with More Than a Woman by the Bee Gees, which instantly set the vibe. It felt celebratory, powerful, and feminine all at once, and the clothes matched that energy. The first look came out: a long, easy blazer with flowing black pants and a bold string necklace that instantly felt like the accessory of the season. Not long after, a red cotton bodice dress appeared, topped with this huge raffia hat that was so dramatic it stopped you for a moment.

What stood out was all the layering— big silver pendants, shells, ties tucked into shirts. My personal favorite was this red double-breasted blazer, super structured, worn with featherlight flowing pants that moved so beautifully as the model walked. There were seersucker suits, skirts with tons of fabric gathered into volume, woven bags with wide handles, and stripes in every possible width. And then came this chevron halter-neck maxi gown, full of fabric, billowing with each step— easily one of the showstoppers.
The jewelry really pulled the looks together: oversized silver pendants that dropped to mid-torso, bold but still elegant. The whole collection was clean, sharp, and so wearable, yet still dreamy enough to feel like summer. It left me genuinely excited for the season. Ralph Lauren proves once again that the American classic can always be reimagined.
And of course, the front row had its own spotlight: David Lauren and his wife Lauren, Dylan Lauren, Mrs. Ralph Lauren herself, plus Joe Jonas, Priyanka Chopra, Oprah, and Gayle King. Only Ralph could pull together a moment that felt this personal, this powerful, and this timeless— a world within a world.
