Renowned German fashion photographer, Peter Lindbergh has died on Tuesday at the age of 74. The cause of death is not yet known.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Lindbergh on September 3rd 2019, at the age of 74” reads a post published on his Instagram page. “He is survived by his wife Petra, his first wife Astrid, his four sons Benjamin, Jeremy, Simon, Joseph and seven grandchildren. He leaves a big void.”

The revolutionary photographer is known for his prolific work, having made a name for himself in the 80s and 90s photographing supermodels Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and Linda Evangelista in their prime. Recent years have seen him take the camera to everyone from Rihanna to climate activist Greta Thunberg.
His expansive career saw him become the mastermind behind some the industry’s most iconic images. Lindbergh’s signature monochromatic lens left him recognized as one the most influential image-makers of our time, whose work will forever be remembered throughout the fashion industry.
