Mark your calendars: Riyadh Fashion Week (RFW) has just publicly announced the dates of its much-anticipated second edition. After a successful debut last year, the Arab world’s first and only officially accredited fashion week is set to return next month, scheduled to run from Oct. 17 – 21.
Spearheaded by Saudi Arabia’s Fashion Commission, according to a recently shared press release, this year’s event is set to be much bigger and bolder. With an expanded lineup of brands, labels, and creatives, 28 individual shows are expected to take center stage across the Saudi capital. Some of the brand’s expected to hit RFW’s runway include Riyadh-based fashion house 1886 and up-and-coming resort-wear label JUBB, with more names to be revealed in the days leading up to the flagship event.
Boasting a mix of emerging and established talents across categories like couture, evening wear, ready-to-wear, and streetwear, the sartorial gathering will also feature a range of satellite activations, including fashion presentations, showrooms, and other citywide initiatives.
“Riyadh Fashion Week exemplifies our commitment to positioning Saudi Arabia as a global hub for fashion innovation and creativity. This year’s event not only builds on the success of our inaugural edition but also takes a bold step forward, redefining the possibilities within the fashion industry,” said Burak Cakmak, CEO of the Fashion Commission. “By bringing together a diverse array of brands, we are creating a platform for meaningful cultural exchange and collaboration that highlights the richness of Saudi talent and its impact on the global stage,” he added.
Although organizers—who plan to live stream the event across RFW’s official social media channels—haven’t revealed the names of any of the brands set to be featured this year, we’re expecting them to be just as impressive as last year’s. For a little reminder, the inaugural edition saw standout names like ASHI Studio, 1886, Yousef Akbar, and Arwa Al Banawi, to name just a few.
