Saudi Arabia Is Getting Its Very Own Fashion Week

and it’s sooner than you think

We are halfway through the Spring 2024 Haute Couture shows in Paris, but we have another Fashion Week to look forward to. This week, the Saudi Fashion Commission announced the launch of the inaugural Saudi Fashion Week in October. The three-day event is set to take place in Riyadh from Oct. 20 to Oct. 23.

Participating designers who will showcase their collections include local talents from the Saudi 100 Brand Program, which includes ready-to-wear, couture, and pret-a-porter designers, including Yousef Akbar, Atelier Hekayet, and By Sadeem, among others.

There will be ten distinct design categories represented at the forthcoming Fashion Week, ranging from ready-to-wear to footwear.

The Saudi 100 Brand Program was established in 2021 to help develop and refine the skills of 100 Saudi fashion brands while enabling them to interact with their international peers and meet with influential people in the world of fashion through various initiatives, including a series of fashion events held during Paris Fashion Week.

Most recently, several designers from the program were handpicked to showcase their products and designs in Paris as part of Haute Couture Week from July 3 to 5, following a week-long pop-up held during Paris Men’s Fashion Week last month. Additionally, six emerging local talents presented their spring 2024 collections in a group show in Place Vendôme. The show was accompanied by a performance by dance duo Les Gamal, Saudi rapper Beast, as well as musicians from the National Orchestra invited by the Music Commission.
