Few models possess the same sense of versatility as Amira Al-Zuhair, the Saudi-French rising star who stormed the runways of Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, and Giambattista Valli, quickly became a favorite of photographers and publications like Vogue Arabia and Elle, and is being booked to front campaigns for everyone from Prada to Carolina Herrera.
Since making her Fashion Week debut in 2020 for Eudon Choi, the 23-year-old has gone on to become one of the most in-demand new faces and breakout stars to watch as well as a mainstay on the runways of regional couturiers such as Georges Hobeika, who selected Al-Zuhair to close out his most recent Fall 2023 Haute Couture show in Paris.
Shortly after Couture Week, where she also graced the runways of Gaurav Gupta, Elie Saab, and Georges Chakra, the Philosophy and Economics graduate jetted off to Alberobello, a Unesco World Heritage Site in Italy’s Puglia, for Dolce & Gabbana’s 11th Alta Moda show. Quickly becoming one of the house’s most enduring muses, Al Zuhair (who was scouted while having lunch in Paris with her family aged 18 and quickly signed to Elite Model Management after) has also appeared on the Italian label’s catwalks for last year’s Alta Moda presentation, in addition to their Fall and Spring 2023 shows.
Whether she’s transforming into a blushing bride for Georges Hobeika or appearing as a glamorous fighter-jet pilot for Casablanca, Al Zuhair’s chameleonic ability to flawlessly embody the vision of whichever designer she’s working with, paired with her arresting beauty, has made her one of today’s most sought-after faces, rapidly joining the ranks of other Arab and part-Arab catwalk stars having a major moment, such as the Hadid sisters, Malika El-Maslouhi, and Loli Bahia.
Below, we look back at some of the trailblazing Saudi model’s most memorable runway moments.
