Sandals might be an easy breezy option during summer, but sneakers will always be the comfiest. Paired with simple tracksuit bottoms or tennis shorts, they add an effortless sporty flair to paired down holiday looks.
24-year-old French-Algerian blogger Selma Kaci Sebbagh knows a thing or two about marrying functionality and style. Raised in Paris—with her mother who works in luxury fashion—Sebbagh nails the art of laidback French girl style.
But as a passionate sneaker aficionado (she admits to owning more than 150 pairs), she puts a cool, modern twist on sportswear. Whether teamed with a statement dress, a pastel suit or Bianca Jagger-esque wide-leg pants, Sebbagh always aligns her outfits with her sneakers, intricately mixing textures and silhouettes.

With new products dropping literally every day, there’re no sign of the sneaker trend showing down. But in a market that’s saturated with daily—even hourly—drops, choosing the right pair can be tough. From chunky dad sneakers to acid-bright iterations, we asked Sebbagh to round up her six favourite pairs for the summer.
Comme des Garçons x Nike Shox TL
I’ve been waiting for this collaboration since last fashion week, when she appeared on the runway with the chain. I can’t wait for the drop, particularly as these are my two favourite brands. I already have all of their collaborations, so I can’t wait to make my collection even bigger. And the Shox silhouette makes me nostalgic.
Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 v2 “Antlia”
I love wearing this pair at the moment. It’s just so comfortable and light. The first time I saw this slightly odd colourway, I instantly thought it was the ideal pair for summer. I like the fact that it’s not a common colour and it looks perfect on tanned skin!
Nike React 87
Literally impossible to go on holidays without a Nike React Element. I’m taking two or three pairs with me!
Iridescent Converse Chuck Taylor 70
As soon as I saw the pair, it caught my attention. I used to wear Converse a lot when I was younger, but I had stopped buying some recently to be honest. But I love everything shiny so this one is a must for summer.
Sacai x Nike LDV Waffle
This one’s my favourite right now. I waited for it for a long time, and now that I’ve got it, I’m obsessed! Can’t wait for the new drop: all white with shades of grey
