Semi Permanent is the Abu Dhabi Festival You Don’t Want to Miss

The biggest festival of the season is kicking off this week. Semi Permanent, the globally renowned multi-disciplinary experience is making its way to Abu Dhabi, and you don’t want to miss it. 

The design festival, which will take over cultural district Manarat Al Saadiyat for three days is set to showcase the region’s biggest talents alongside some of the world’s brightest. 

You can expect a DJ performance by award-winning artist Mark Ronson, as well as a slew of immersive exhibitions by globally renowned contemporary artists. The show will also see talks, performances, dining experiences, installations as well as screenings. 

Among it is an exhibition of Sabine Marceli’s sculptural objects, a pop-up bar by NYC’s Lower East Side staple The Flower Shop as well as an installation by artist Refik Anadol

To make it happen the festival teamed up with Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism and Retail Abu Dhabi. 

“Our strategic partnership with Semi Permanent will unite a who’s who of international talent and cutting-edge powerhouses from across the world’s creative landscape, right here in Abu Dhabi. this exciting new addition to Abu Dhabi’s increasingly diverse events calendar underlines the emirate’s role as both an enabler and a beacon of innovation for the regional design, business and creative industries,’ says Executive Director of Tourism and Marketing at DCT, HE Ali Hassan Al Shaiba.  

The festival will put the spotlight on local artists, namely Influencer and singer Dana Hourani, Hussain Almoosawi, Lebanese illustrator Nouri Flayhan, Les Benjamins founder and director Bunyamin Aydin, and henna artist and designer Azra Khamissa.
