What was a sneaker love affair between a small Dubai circle has transformed into one of Dubai’s biggest cultural festivals: Sole DXB. The three-day event saw over 25,000 people through its doors last year, and this year is expected to be bigger than ever.
To celebrate the upcoming edition, Sole DXB has just announced a major partnership with none other than Adidas Originals. They’re dropping a limited capsule collection just for the occasion. The collection, which will drop exclusively at the event will pay homage to Jamaican culture, which is this year’s theme.
Taking inspiration from the colours, destinations and people the event’s organisers saw on a recent trip to the Caribbean nation, the collection includes classic Adidas originals pieces, including a blue tracksuit top that reads ‘Negril Jamaica’ on the back—a reference to the western Jamaican town.
And in an ode to the nation, the Adidas logo is transformed into the green, yellow, and red colours featured on the Jamaican flag. The logo can also be seen on a black tracksuit with the words ‘Kingston, Jamaica’, a tribute to the nation’s buzzing capital.
One of Kingston’s most notorious neighbourhoods is also put on the spotlight in a graphic t-shirt that features photography shot in Trivoli Gardens. Another t-shirt with a photograph shot in Notting Hill Carnival is included in the collection.
The collection will only be available for purchase at the Adidas Originals booth at Sole DXB booth on December 6 and 7, 2019.
