Sotheby’s Auctions Jewellery from the Iconic Hind Rostom’s Personal Collection

A piece of cinematic history

Beyond her roles in Egyptian cinema, the late Alexandria-born icon Hind Rostom was known for being an avid jewellery collector. Always keen on travelling the word to find the rarest of diamonds and rubies, Rostom’s personal collection is impressive to say the least. And it will be up for auction this November 10.

The sale, organised by Sotheby’s, will offer eight pieces from the actresses private acquisitions that will include a diamond and emerald bracelet estimated at nearly $27,000, a lustrous pendant as well as a pair of diamond David Webb earrings worth around $7000.

Often regarded as “the first lady of Egyptian cinema”, Hind’s fine selection of lavish ornaments followed her wherever she went as it became a customary signature of hers across the years.

Valuable in price and meaning, the handful of lucky buyers will be able to put their hands on a priceless piece of history that will surely know how to bring some fond memories back onto their minds and screens.
