Surprise! Marwan Pablo Dropped a New EP

it’s called 'PRJKTBLUBEAM'

For an artist that’s been in-and-out of retirement, fans of Marwan Pablo must feel eternally grateful anytime he releases new music. Off the back of the release of his first studio album Akher Ket’aa Faneya last year, the Alexandria-born rapper is back with a brand new project.

Titled PRJKTBLUBEAM—a nod to the conspiracy theory alleging a top-secret government project—the EP boasts four tracks, with one feature from fellow Egyptian artist Xander Ghost, and was exclusively  produced by Lecha. The opening track, Déjà Vu is accompanied with a music video, which has already amassed 250,000 views on YouTube in the last 20 hours.

In just under 10 minutes across four tracks, the proclaimed “Godfather of Egyptian trap” makes his comeback with an experimental sound and a fresh aesthetic, signaling a new era for the rapper. Departing from the themes that initially brought him fame, the 27-year-old Diesel brand ambassador delves into new territories, reflecting on his newfound status as an acclaimed figure and rapping, at length, about the complexities of his rapid rise to notoriety. This introspection is particularly evident in the anaphora of Déjà Vu, where he repeatedly questions, “Where are we going?”

PRJKTBLUBEAM comes just weeks before his first European tour, kicking off in London on Sep. 3, before taking him to Berlin, Amsterdam, and Paris–giving fans plenty of time to acquaint themselves with the new EP.
