Not many cities around the world have the wealth, glitz, and glamor that the Principality of Monaco offers. The meeting point for old-money elites, the nouveau riche, and passing tourists who are often spotted snapping selfies of yachts they likely can’t afford, luxury in this particular patch of land is anything but subtle, drawing those with an appetite for opulence and excess to the French Riviera’s most lavish playground. And it was precisely here that The Unique Show staged its sixth edition. The exhibition, which took place between June 18 and 21 at Le Meridien Hotel, brought together over 60 jewelers under one roof to display their rarest gems, flaunt their one-of-a-kind creations, and share their respective years of expertise and know-how.
Over the course of four days, Monte Carlo played host to a steady stream of buyers, tastemakers, and collectors who converged on its narrow streets for a fair that gathered the who’s-who of fine jewelry. With champagne flutes clinking across marble floors, The Unique Show’s sixth edition unfolded in three parts, two of which are new additions to this year’s lineup.
Of course, the heart of it all was the exhibition itself; a curated showcase featuring ateliers from across the globe, which were handpicked to present their work and connect with people looking to buy, collaborate, or elevate their practice. Some of the names included Mahesh Notandass from India, Geneva-based Minh Luong, and Louise Westwood from the United Kingdom, amongst many others. Representing the region were brands like Kyan Jewelry, Devji Aurum, and Mayan Jaffar from Bahrain, as well as Z Gold and Aura by Nou from Lebanon (though they were unable to attend the event due to unforeseen circumstances.)

New to the format was the Charity Night Gala, held to support children in need around the world, which came as a thoughtful addition that infused the overall event with a deeper sense of purpose. Generously hosted and genuinely memorable, the scope of the night was “to celebrate beauty in its multiple facets: as a rainbow of sapphires, beauty can come both from stunning pieces of jewelry but also in the ‘art of giving back,’” as CEO of The Unique Group, Dalila Daffara, expressed.
Another new feature to this year’s edition was The Unique Awards Night, which was conceived to recognize the exceptional achievements of the show’s exhibitors across several categories. Only the top three creations in each category were honored, with winners selected by a jury of some of the most prominent leaders in the industry. Presented by Swedish model, actress, and singer Victoria Silvstedt, the ceremony champions creators across different dimensions of excellence within the world of high jewelry, from Best Design, Most Innovative Piece, and Best Use of Colored Gemstones to Sustainability in Jewelry, and Rising Star.
“We wanted to celebrate and recognize the incredible talent of our exhibitors with an Awards Night Ceremony, honoring their passion and dedication in creating some of the most astonishing high jewelry pieces I have ever seen,” Daffara added.
During our time spent in the French South, we were also treated to a one-of-a-kind experience; a hands-on workshop that offered a rare glimpse into all the work that goes behind jewelry making. Led by students from the Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome (IED Roma), and professor Barbara Brocchi, visitors, ourselves included, got to see how a jewelry design comes to life, starting from a simple sketch on paper to transforming into something real, wearable, and most importantly, tangible. Giving us a peek into a creative process that usually happens behind closed studio doors, we were handed even more industry secrets thanks to a special collaboration with The Place of Wonders foundation, where master goldsmith Giò Carbone shared some of the ancient techniques, tools, and traditions that continue to shape the art of fine jewelry to this day.
To wrap things up on a high note, The Unique Show announced its extending its vision with a permanent space in Dubai, marking a new (and exciting) chapter for the initiative. Slated to soft launch this month inside the Kempinski Hotel on Jumeirah Beach, the venue will officially open its doors to the greater public later this year. Imagined as an “art gallery for jewelry,” the space aims to gather fine art, collectible design, and haute joaillerie all in one place, offering a rotating program of exhibitions, installations, and private viewings to treat enthusiasts all year long. Situated at the crossroads of culture and craftsmanship, The Unique Show’s outpost in the UAE feels like a natural next step for an event that has, in just six editions, become a must-not-miss moment in the international jewelry calendar. And in Dubai—a city known for both its appetite for luxury and its celebration of creativity—the stage is perfectly set to cement that reputation even further.
