And just like that, the 79th Cannes Film Festival is officially over. The 10-day-long celebration of cinema, which took place between May 13 and May 24, came to a close on Saturday night, but we’re still thinking about the red carpet looks it delivered along the way. From archival couture moments and sculptural gowns to sharp tailoring and head-turning high jewelry, Arab stars once again proved they remain some of the festival’s best-dressed regulars. Whether attending premieres, jury dinners, or seaside soirées along the Croisette, celebrities from across the region brought glamour, personality, and plenty of fashion history with them. Below, our favorite standout looks from this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
Imane Khelif
The Algerian Olympic gold medalist made her Cannes Film Festival debut at the premiere of the Argentine sports documentary The Match wearing a cropped gabardine jacket, a crisp white cotton shirt, and tailored black trousers from Chanel. The boxer completed her all-black look with a white brooch and Chanel’s Coco Crush earrings.
Yasmine Sabri
The Egyptian actress and Cartier brand ambassador opted for a princess-worthy gown from Sophie Couture Spring 2027 at the La Bataille De Gaulle: L’Âge De Fer screening. She accessorized the strapless embellished gown with dazzling Chopard diamond earrings and a necklace.
Haifa Wehbe
The Lebanese diva attended the screening of La Bola Negra by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi wearing a head-to-toe, all black sheer Gucci look that included a black bralette, shorts, and the interlocking G Tights, all layered under a sheer gown with feathered sleeves. She paired the bold look with high jewelry from Pasquale Bruni.
Yasmina El Abd
The 19-year-old, who was appointed a Dior global brand ambassador in April, showed up to the red carpet wearing, what else? Dior by Jonathan Anderson. She attended the screening of Histoires Paralleles (Parallel Tales) wearing a floor-length strapless icy pale blue gown with an oversized feathered bow detail placed asymmetrically across the bust.
Shanina Shaik
The Australian-Saudi-Pakistani-Lithuanian model made several striking appearances at La Croisette. Our favorite was the head-turning sheer embellished gown from Zuhair Murad’s Spring 2025 Couture collection, which she wore to the Fjord screening.
Bella Hadid
Bella Hadid’s high-octane Cannes wardrobe included everything from Prada and Haider Ackermann’s Tom Ford to archival Elie Saab. One of her standout looks came at the La Bataille De Gaulle: L’Âge De Fer premiere, where she stepped out wearing an ivory crochet Schiaparelli gown designed by Daniel Roseberry alongside 130 artisans. The creation, which was a reference to Jane Birkin’s 1969 Union of the Artists gala look, featured trompe l’œil lace embroidery, long sleeves, and a deep plunging neckline cut almost to the waist with a black floral applique placed at the center of the torso.
Farida Khelfa
For the World Woman Awards during the Cannes Film Festival, Farida Khelfa opted for a glossy olive-green coat dress with strong shoulders, a cinched waist, and a sleek midi-length cut from Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann. With her slicked-back pixie cut, smoky metallic eye makeup, and bold berry-red lips, the look leaned effortlessly commanding on the red carpet.
Balqees Fathi
Balqees Fathi brought full golden-era glamour to the Karma screening in Cannes, arriving in a vintage Roberto Cavalli creation dipped in shimmering antique gold tones. The archival strapless gown, designed by the late Cavalli himself, hugged the body with sculpted paneling before cascading into a dramatic fishtail-inspired hem. She paired the statement look with sparkling Messika jewels, including the Night Owl earrings and pieces from the house’s Midnight Sun high jewelry line.
Leila Bekhti
As president of the Un Certain Regard jury, French-Algerian actress Leïla Bekhti delivered one of the strongest red carpet wardrobes of the entire Cannes Film Festival. Across the 10-day event, the actress consistently stepped out in a series of striking archival looks, including this elegant black Guy Laroche gown featuring an asymmetrical neckline, delicate lace detailing, and a softly flared silhouette.
Nadine Labaki
Coordinated dressing took center stage when Lebanese director Nadine Labaki and her husband, composer Khaled Mouzanar, arrived at the screening of El ser querido in matching tuxedo-inspired looks. Serving on this year’s Un Certain Regard jury, Labaki opted for a sharp masculine-leaning Dior suit paired with Cartier jewelry, while Mouzanar wore a classic Zegna tuxedo.
Nadine Nassib Njeim
For the Cannes opening ceremony, Nadine Nassib Njeim leaned into full Old Hollywood glamour in a sculpted black velvet Armani Privé gown paired with Marli high jewelry. The Lebanese actress wore the maison’s custom-made Darling necklace — a diamond-encrusted piece centered around a 10.7-carat pink tourmaline — alongside matching earrings, marking Marli’s first foray into high jewelry after more than 1,000 hours of craftsmanship.
Nour Arida
Nour Arida delivered one of Cannes’ chicest after-dark fashion moments at Chopard’s MIRACLES soirée in La Palestre. Wearing a sculpted espresso-toned Karoline Lang gown with a dramatic fur-trimmed hip detail, the Lebanese style star finished the look with dazzling Chopard diamonds that added just the right amount of sparkle.
