The Best New Tracks From the Region You May Have Missed

From Ma-Beyn, to Tul8te, and more…

Navigating today’s music scene is no easy feat. That’s why we’re here—to cut through the noise and spotlight some standout tracks that deserve your attention. From Soulja and Ma Beyn to Molotof, Abudhallh Diab, Tul8te, Nour, and Felukah, this past month has been filled with hard-hitting bangers.

Leading the pack is Ma-Beyn, the Palestinian-Egyptian artist whose evolving sound keeps listeners hooked. Her latest track, Ya Ghaly, is a jazz-infused love anthem that offers a taste of her upcoming album, blending jazz’s improvisational vibe with rock’s raw energy.

On the more experimental side of the scene, Cairo-based artist Basyoni joined forces with Hussein Gamal to chef up a disco-inspired track that blends vintage vibes with modern electronic sounds. Exploring the complexities of love, the video clip—shot by French-Egyptian director Ahmed Razeek—features stylized shots and boasts a dreamlike aesthetic that matches the song’s nostalgic feel. For us, it’s one to bump without restraint as we wait for summer to make its way back.

On the hip-hop front, Sudanese artists Montiyago and Soulja have teamed up with the innovative producer 77 for Suits, a sleek three-track EP. With 77’s trap beats setting the tone, the duo’s verses flow effortlessly, each bringing their unique style while fitting into the EP’s smooth, modern feel.

Adding another burst of energy, Disco Misr and Tul8te’s new single, Fe Eineh, debuted at the 7th El Gouna Film Festival. A perfect mix of Tul8te’s retro pop vocals and Disco Misr’s vibrant beats, the song feels both nostalgic and fresh.

Taking a more introspective turn, Iraqi-Canadian rapper Narcy (Yassin Alsalman) joins forces with American talent Redveil on Sword, a haunting track that reflects the devastation in Gaza and Lebanon. Narcy’s verses cut deep, capturing raw emotions over minimalist, drumless chords.

Nour’s Nogoum transports listeners into her personal reflections, blending Middle Eastern rhythms with lush synths for a haunting soundscape. Produced by Zouj and Kubbara, the track dives into themes of self-discovery and healing, with Nour’s vocals channeling her struggles with anxiety and dissociation in today’s chaotic world.

And finally, UK indie-pop collective Koteri, led by Abdullah Diab (son of Egyptian icon Amr Diab), makes a dazzling debut with their EP Heaven’s A Lonely Place. Infused with influences from Frank Sinatra to The Black Eyed Peas, the EP’s eight tracks traverse street soul, space funk, and themes of love and self-discovery.
