Little time remains before the 23rd edition of the FIFA World Cup kicks off on North American soil between June 11 and July 19, 2026 across Canada, the United States, and Mexico. But as anticipation builds, so does the growing list of controversies and scandals involving some host nations; from a war America voluntarily started to a cartel-linked assassination that triggered nationwide unrest in Mexico. Taken together, these developments are beginning to cast a shadow over what is meant to be football’s biggest global celebration; and with only months to go, focus is starting to drift towards everything but the action that’s about to happen on the pitch. And we’re here to bring it back, starting with the jerseys unveiled thus far.
In recent weeks, a number of athletic giants have begun rolling out their official kits for participating teams. On March 20, Adidas unveiled the away kits for all 25 of its partner federations, tapping into each nation’s visual language while reworking familiar World Cup-era silhouettes through a more contemporary lens. That same day, Nike followed with both home and away kits, engineered with its Aero-FIT performance cooling technology—an intricate system that uses computational design and precision knitting to regulate body temperature in what’s expected to be one of the most physically demanding tournaments yet. Not to be outdone, PUMA entered the conversation on March 24, rounding out a wave of releases that feel as much about innovation and identity as they are about sport.
As we wait to see what this next edition of the quadrennial tournament brings, we compiled a selection of kits—from Nike, Adidas, and Puma— that have already secured a spot on our radars (and soon, our wardrobes too).
