As the Saudi Fashion Awards prepare for their second edition, organizers have revealed details ahead of their sophomore event in Riyadh. Set for May 22, the second edition promises to build on the foundations laid last year by championing creative talent, once again, across the fashion and beauty industries in the Kingdom.
According to organizers, a few tweaks have been made to this year’s format, including the introduction of new categories and a stronger emphasis on the beauty segments of the awards ceremony. In its 2025 installment, the gala will hand out accolades to the Fashion Stylist of the Year, the Fashion Photographer of the Year (in collaboration with Hia Magazine), the Menswear Brand of the Year, the Womenswear Brand of the Year, the Jewelry Brand of the Year, and the Honorary Award: Model of the Year.
What’s more, four additional awards backed by New York–based publication Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) will reward talent in design and beauty innovation, amongst other areas and disciplines of the sartorial industry.
“Riyadh is proudly emerging as the capital of fashion, beauty, and the future of the creative industries in the region. Its transformation from promise to global presence on red carpets, runways, and retail spaces reflects the ingenuity and dedication of a new generation of trailblazers redefining regional and international fashion standards,” Burak Çakmak, CEO of the Saudi Fashion Commission, said in a recently shared statement.
The selection process will be overseen by a panel of respected figures from both regional and international fashion circles, including Amanda Smith, CEO of Fairchild Media Group and WWD; Burak Çakmak, CEO of the Saudi Fashion Commission; Xavier Romatet, Dean of the Institut Français de la Mode; Mohammed Aldabbagh, KSA Managing Director at Chalhoub Group; and Mai Badr, Editor-in-Chief of Hia Magazine.
