WASLA, the Arab alternative music and arts festival, is making its global comeback with a debut in London this September. After a series of successful editions in the Middle East, the festival is set to bring its annual celebration of Arab culture to the UK capital. Scheduled for Sep. 3 and 4, this year’s festival promises an eclectic mix of the Arab world’s freshest and most exciting talents.
The event’s lineup features powerhouse performances from Egyptian trap artist Marwan Pablo, Syrian duo TootArd, UAE-based Somali rapper Freek, Palestinian DJ Habibeats, Egyptian producer El Waili, Sudanese-Moroccan singer Areej, Beirut’s Gharam Electric, and Palestinian artist Rasha Nahas. Also featured on the billing are Palestinian-Canadian siblings Maher and Mike Daniel, who will rotate DJ sets, ensuring the beats keep the crowd moving across Outernet’s venues, HERE and The Lower Third.
WASLA’s London debut marks a significant milestone as the first Arab alternative music and arts festival to tour globally. Owned and produced by Brag in partnership with Live Nation, the festival aims to export its UAE-born concept worldwide.
Challenging and reshaping perceptions, dismantling stereotypes, and fostering a sense of community through the universal languages of music, art, and cuisine, WASLA isn’t your average music festival. Meanwhile, London, with its rich history as a cultural melting pot, is the perfect launchpad for WASLA’s international debut.
Tickets for the forthcoming event are available for purchase online at www.LiveNation.co.uk. If you’re in London be sure to check it out.
