Skims and Nike Team Up for Joint Women’s Label

Nike and Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS have launched NikeSKIMS, a joint venture focusing on women’s activewear that combines Nike’s athletic heritage with SKIMS’ design solutions. This collaboration marks a strategic move for both brands as Nike introduces Elliot Hill as its new CEO, seeking to rejuvenate its image after recent setbacks under former CEO John Donahue, and as SKIMS expands its market presence with its recent high-profile partnerships, including with The North Face and the WNBA. The partnership arrives after SKIMS’ rapid ascension in the shapewear sector since its 2019 debut and amidst Nike’s efforts to recover from innovation critiques and sales declines noted by industry leaders like JD Sports’ CEO, Régis Schultz. The inaugural NikeSKIMS collection is set to release in Spring 2025, with plans for global expansion in 2026. Kim Kardashian emphasized the collaboration’s focus on innovation, inclusivity, and empowering women, aligning with both brands’ commitment to serving a diverse customer base.

Congratulations are in order for Harlem-born rapper A$AP Rocky who has been named as sunglasses brand Ray-Ban’s first-ever creative director. The news comes just days after jurors found him not guilty in a recent shooting trial. In his new role, the trendsetting artist will help guide creative projects, redesign retail spaces, and provide a distinct vision to the brand’s image and design going forward. “Today, we are welcoming A$AP Rocky into our family; he’s a visionary artist and creator,” says Ray-Ban president Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio. “His ability to push the boundaries of the diverse worlds he explores, aligns with the Ray-Ban DNA. We are reinforcing the brand’s values of innovation, pioneering spirit, and courage. Let the future begin!” His first order of business is to redesign the existing line up of frames in a modern and elevated way. Titled the “Blacked Out” collection, the frames will be adorned with gold-plated accents and feature brand-new ultra-black lenses. The first release from this collection is set for April.
