Following the success of Mid Term, Egyptian youth dramas continue to gain momentum with Underage, a new Shahid original that combines mystery with coming-of-age drama. What is the story of Underage?

Underage follows the lives of five teenage girls whose world is turned upside down after one of their classmates, Hana, mysteriously disappears inside their school.

As the search for Hana intensifies, buried secrets begin to emerge, exposing complicated relationships between students, teachers, and families. Her close friend Mariam becomes determined to uncover the truth, only to find herself trapped in a web of lies, intimidation, and unexpected revelations.

Beyond its central mystery, the series explores the emotional realities of adolescence, including identity, friendship, family conflict, peer pressure, and the impact of digital life on young people.

What happens in the first episodes of Underage?

The story opens inside a private girls’ school where discipline has already begun to deteriorate. Students routinely enter through a back entrance with the help of the school’s cleaner, Om Sayed.

Everything changes when Om Sayed and one of the students discover blood stains and cut hair inside an abandoned school bathroom. Hoping to avoid trouble, Om Sayed secretly cleans the scene, while another student finds a piece of jewelry that later becomes a crucial piece of evidence.

Meanwhile, Mariam grows increasingly worried after her best friend Hana suddenly disappears. As police launch their investigation, suspicion quickly falls on several students—particularly Dalida, whose complicated relationship with Hana gradually comes to light.

By the end of the first two episodes, viewers learn that Hana had been assaulted before vanishing, transforming what initially seemed like a missing-person case into a much larger mystery.
