After three years of staging co-ed shows, creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli has decided to return to Milan Fashion Week (MFW) to present Valentino’s spring 2024 menswear collection on July 16. Taking place at the Università degli Studi di Milano Statale, the dedicated menswear show, dubbed “Valentino The Narratives,” the dedicated show will kick off MFW, which is running until July 20 in the Italian city.
The decision to return to Milan Fashion Week is a nod to the house’s roots, as the founder, Valentino Garavani, staged his first menswear show in Milan in 1985. But in recent years, the women’s and couture collections have been traditionally unveiled in Paris. Valentino isn’t the only luxury brand to move away from the co-ed format, as houses including Gucci, Moschino, and Versace have all started presenting men-specific runways.
The university’s students will be able to experience the show on site, while others can watch the hotly-anticipated collection unfold in the stream below. Check back on July 16 at at 2:00 p.m. CET (4:00 p.m. GST) to catch the action in real-time.
