The world might have started to ease lockdown measures, but almost all cultural events are still on hold until further notice.

Even summer holidays are looking like a myth at this point. But quarantine has birthed a host of creative alternatives to concerts, shows and exhibitions. Case in point: Not Cancelled—a week-long digital art event running from May 19 to May 26, which is bringing together six leading Dubai galleries for a virtual show.

Determined to fight against the dead-end of lockdown, Carbon 12, Green Art Gallery, Grey Noise, Gallery Isabelle van den Eynde, Lawrie Shabibi and the Third Line have come together for the new platform. Launched in Vienna, Not Cancelled has already put together a few online exhibitions in collaboration with galleries worldwide, from Berlin to Istanbul.

This week, Not Cancelled comes to the Gulf, exhibiting pieces from a wide array of regional artists, such as Sara Naim, Tarek Al Ghussein, Amir Kojasteh and Charbel-Joseph H. Boutros to name but a few, with many of the artworks still available for sale.

Gutted your can’t enjoy art IRL? Don’t be. This is your chance to get closer to it than you could do in real life. So check it out here.
