Watch Myriem Boukadida and Elias Joly Pass Their Prada Screen Test

Arab models take center stage

Model and actress Myriem Boukadida, known for her roles in Sons of Moufida (2015) and Tej El Hadhra (2018), teams up with Elias Joly in a conceptual shoot for Prada.

Capturing the enchantment of a film audition’s behind-the-scenes and the buildup to a performance’s creative process, the Arab models are featured in this MILLE creative production. Wearing key pieces from the Italian heritage brand’s Holiday men’s and women’s collections, their looks are a perfect blend of simplicity and elegance, modesty and glamor. The collection includes white satin turtlenecks with Prada’s iconic metal triangle logo, crisp cotton shirts with floral motifs and mother-of-pearl buttons, neutral double-breasted blazers with black trousers, and a striking crystal-embellished tulle gown.

In a captivating tribute to the allure of cinematic heroes and heroines, “The December 2023 Issue” sees the iconic fashion house co-helmed by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons drawing inspiration from classic cinematic personas that have graced the silver screen throughout the twentieth century. This collection breathes life into these characters, emphasizing a meticulous attention to opulent materials, such as cashmere, silk, and wool, that elevate the very essence of style.

Prada is well-versed in blending film with fashion, establishing a profound and multifaceted relationship with cinema characterized by collaborations with renowned directors like Baz Luhrmann and Wes Anderson, costuming movies such as Romeo and Juliet, producing short films, and creating film-inspired campaigns. “The December 2023 Issue” reaffirms the brand’s bond with the world of cinema. The inclusion of actors in catwalks and campaigns is a tradition that has been ongoing since the ‘90s, underscoring Prada’s recognition of cinema as a powerful and influential art form.

In addition to being a highly sought-after actress, Boukadida is rapidly becoming a prominent figure in the world of fashion. With distinctive features and a powerful presence, she is making waves and securing her place in the competitive industry. As a champion for diversity and inclusivity in fashion, Boukadida’s path is inspiring and promotes wider cultural representation on the international stage.

Established in 1913, Prada has become synonymous with luxury, renowned for minimalist design, luxurious materials, and clean lines. The label is also leading the charge towards a more sustainable fashion future, evidenced by initiatives like the Prada Re-Nylon project, aiming to transform regenerated nylon into new fabric.
