Dior Teams Up With Emirati Designer Yasmin Al Mulla to Create the Ultimate Midkhan

Dior x Yasmin Al Mulla

Incense burners are a staple in every Arab household, especially during holy seasons. With Ramadan just around the corner, Dior is dropping their own midkhans, and we’re here for it.

To make it happen, the luxury fashion house has collaborated with Emirati designer Yasmin Al Mulla to design the exclusive pieces, inspired by the region’s sense of community and togetherness.

‏“A tribute to my society, inspired by my community, by the sense of belonging, and the power of interconnectedness,” the designer wrote on Instagram.

The drop comes after Dior’s latest Tobacolor fragrance, an oriental scent with nuances of fresh tobacco, which was a great source of inspiration behind the collab.

The Midkhans’ timeless design oozes marble and wood-like looks in neutral and earthy tones. Al Mulla’s designing palette takes off the Tobacolor fragrance’s ambery, brown and honeyed notes.

A simplicity and elegance that mirrors the designer’s signature style seen in her collections for the Dubai-based fashion label YNM. As co-founder and creative director, Al Mulla is known for her contemporary, refined and minimal hand-made garments, from timeless abayas to daytime dresses.

The Emirati designer is also no stranger to luxury collaborations as she has previously worked with major brands like Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin and Tiffany & Co.
