Dahab initially started off as a Bedouin fishing village, but by the 1960’s, in accordance with the rest of the world, during a time of flower power and all things peace and love, it became a safe haven for the free souls. North Coast
To many Egyptians, summer means Sahel (Arabic word for “coast”). Situated on Egypt’s North Coast, the beach town is a strip of resorts and compounds between Alexandria and Marsa Matrouh. What started off with humble beginnings and a simple means to spend your summer, is no longer due to the ongoing questionable development of the area that has changed its landscape slightly, but there is no denying that it is still home to some of the bluest waters and the best sunsets you will probably see in Egypt. Mainly a destination for families, the growing infrastructure of the beach town has led it to also become the party destination of the summer. For all the techno and house fiends, you’ll find one of Beirut’s most loved party venues AHM, and many others that have welcomed DJ’s from all around the world. Hurghada
Hurghada is the middle ground between Sinai and the North Coast. Whether you’re looking for a simple getaway or seeking to step it up a notch, you’ll find it here. Also situated amongst Egypt’s Red Sea Coast, Hurghada has some of the most sublime beaches. You can head to the city’s cozy residential town, El-Gouna, and get yourself a yacht to explore the water and its many wonders, including the breathtaking Tawila Island. You can also head to Hurghada’s Giftun Islands, which is home to Egypt’s Orange Bay– definitely a sight for sore eyes.
