Dave Chappelle Is Set to Perform at Abu Dhabi’s Very First Comedy Week

Prepare to laugh

Following his triumphant sold-out shows in Dubai back in 2018, renowned US comedian Dave Chappelle is poised to grace the UAE with his uproarious presence at the Abu Dhabi Comedy Week on May 23, marking his debut performance in the city. This inaugural event promises a riotous celebration of humor, as the capital city unveils its first-ever comedy festival, slated to run from May 18 to 26 at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island.

Known for his incisive satire, razor-sharp wit, and fearless exploration of societal themes, the polarizing stand-up comedian boasts a treasure trove of accolades, including five Grammy awards, five Primetime Emmy awards, and a coveted Screen Actor’s Guild award. His indelible mark on comedy culture was cemented with the groundbreaking sketch comedy series Chappelle’s Show, a timeless gem that continues to elicit laughter to this day. And lets not forget his legendary Killing Them Softly stand-up performance.  With his astute observations on the intricacies of race relations, Chappelle’s genius shines through, working a multi-racial crowd before thoroughly exploring the more unspoken race divide without rubbing anyone’s nose in it.

In recent years, the 50-year-old has continued to make thousands laugh with his internationally acclaimed Netflix specials. His latest offering, Dave Chappelle: The Dreamer, launched in December 2023, further solidifies his status as a comedic legend.

Chapelle will be joined by a dynamic lineup of comedic talents at the Abu Dhabi Comedy Week that includes Chris Tucker, Aziz Ansari, Tom Segura, Jo Koy, Tommy Tiernan, Kevin Bridges, Andrew Santino, Bobby Lee, Andrew Schulz, Bassem Youssef, and Maz Jobrani.

Tickets for the anticipated showcase at Abu Dhabi Comedy Week will be available for purchase starting April 23 at 10:00 A.M. GST, exclusively through Live Nation’s website. Prepare to laugh.
