As the ongoing crisis in Sudan worsens and calls for help and solidarity intensify, Cairo has become the epicenter of concerted efforts to relieve the plight of those who are primarily affected. Given the urgency of the situation, artists from all over the spectrum in Egypt have joined forces by organizing a charity concert that will raise funds for the war-torn country.

Hosted by Zaytunes Studio, a self-proclaimed “safe space for creative minds,” the event will see five performers take to the stage to raise awareness, while inspiring compassion and taking concrete action. Titled “Love Sudan,” concert-goers will not only contribute to the fundraising efforts but also become part of a collective effort to alleviate suffering in Sudan. What’s more, attendees will also be treated to several live acts from the likes of Dutch-Sudanese singer Gaidaa, Cairo-based songstress Hiba Elgizouli, as well as rising rapper MaMan, and more.

With 100% of profits going to The Sudanese American Physician Association (SAPA) — a non-profit organization that provides humanitarian aid — ticket holders will be able to enjoy a day-to-night music session with some of the scene’s most promising artists. Taking place on Jan. 13 from 1:00 P.M. til the early hours of the morning at Roof Nineteen Cairo, through the universal language of music, “Love Sudan” will provide a platform for creative expression and serve as a catalyst for positive change for a cause that truly matters.
