Jacquemus (Finally) Opens A Middle East Flagship

yay!

Simone Porte Jacquemus has a lot to celebrate this month. The French designer and his partner, Marco Maestri, have become parents to twins, a boy named Sun and a girl named Mia, this week. The exciting news, which the couple shared on Instagram on Monday, comes just days after Jacquemus announced “Le Mariage,” a brand new wedding collection, and the opening of his namesake ready-to-wear label’s first flagship store in the Middle East.

The Jacquemus boutique, which opened its doors earlier this month, is situated on the first floor of the Dubai Mall’s Fashion Avenue, adjacent to Louis Vuitton. Spanning 291 square meters, the permanent flagship store epitomizes the DNA of the French label. Think: Muted color palettes, natural textures, a clay stone facade, and the designer’s favorite artwork and décor, such as the “Croisillon” dining chair– a revival from French designer Jean Royère, and the “Vase Anduze” handcrafted by Le Chêne Vert, a family-run workshop.

The highly-Instagramable store houses the latest collections of ready-to-wear, bags, shoes, and accessories for men and women, including favorites like the beloved Chiquito bag and micro cardigans with monogrammed breast clips.

The Dubai Mall flagship furthers Jacquemus’ expansion into the Middle East. The Paris-based label, founded in 2009, made its entry into the Gulf by way of a new e-commerce platform, www.jacquemus.ae, back in December with a limited-edition capsule collection created exclusively for the UAE. These newest projects in the region should ensure that the ready-to-wear brand fosters a special relationship with its Arab clientele, which according to Euromonitor International data, make up a significant portion of luxury spending worldwide.  “I am very happy to start this new chapter for the brand and continuing its retail expansion worldwide. This opening is another step into a bigger partnership in the region. We are all looking forward to see what will be next,” Jacquemus said in a statement to WWD.

The Dubai boutique marks the brand’s third permanent store, following the opening of its Avenue Montaigne flagship in Paris and another in Korea.
