Michael Kors, Carolina Herrera Are Showing in Dubai

With more fashion-worthy moments to look forward to!

In the wake of an eclectic fashion month where Gucci under Sabato De Sarno’s creative direction was reset, Sunnei took an unconventional approach to the runway, and Balmain had its entire connection stolen mere days before the show, it’s time to brace ourselves for more fashion-worthy moments, and this time they’ll be set in Dubai. Beginning with world-renowned American fashion brand Michael Kors, who has announced that its Spring 2024 collection will be showcased on Dec. 12 in Dubai in a yet-to-be-announced location.

The first-of- its-kind for the house, this will be the first time Michael Kors hosts a complete runway show outside of New York City. The collection, which debuted last month at Domino Park in Brooklyn, New York, tells a romantic summer tale. With references to a hot summer day somewhere in Capri— set in what could’ve been the late ‘60s or ‘70s— the runway was adorned with daring lace dresses with cheeky cut outs that were a nod to Jane Birkin’s breezy style, fluid goddess dresses, side-slashed skirts, a delicate color palette that floated between sorbet shades of melon, freesia, and bold white florals.

Accessories adhered to the air of effortlessness with sandals, and an artisanal hand woven bucket bag, an additional nod to the late Jane Birkin also featured. The graceful collection will be further elevated in Dubai with looks that are exclusively designed solely for the region.  For those unable to make it, you can catch the show online as it will be livestreamed globally on the brands social and digital platforms.

In addition to Micahel Kors making his international runway debut, Venezuelan-American designer Carolina Herrera is set to hit the runway at the upcoming Dubai Fashion Week (DFW). DFW organized by the Arab Fashion Council  will be kicking off on Oct. 8, with Carolina Herrera as its esteemed guest of honor. The brand will be presenting its Spring 2024 collection designed by creative director Wes Gordon on Oct. 9 at Dubai Design District (D3).

As the epitome of modernity and sophistication, German luxury fashion house Jil Sander is also taking part in DFW. In a special presentation taking place on Oct. 10, the brand, renowned for crafting elegant, minimalist clothing, will join digital luxury e-commerce pioneer Ounass.
