Saudi’s Visual Arts Commission has collaborated with the Fashion Commission to announce the second Intermix Residency | Art & Fashion Reimagined program, which will run from Oct. 22 to Jan. 4, 2024.

In Riyadh’s burgeoning art hub, JAX District, situated in the historical district of Ad Diriyah, the program’s second edition will include three ten-week residency programs bringing together 15 residents from varied backgrounds and specializations.

By highlighting the expressive potential of visual arts, fashion design, and curation, Art and Fashion Reimagined supports and celebrates the development of a common creative visual language. The residency program is fully funded and enables Saudi and international visual artists, fashion designers, and curators to explore different mediums, expand their practice, and collaborate in a creative environment as emerging and mid-career artists.

Alongside studio work, the program offers weekly workshops, training, and an opportunity to display their work during the Open Studio event, held for a duration of two days at the end of each cycle.

The program will be accepting applications through three submission windows corresponding to each residency cycle. The program is open to Saudi nationals, residents, and international emerging and mid-career visual artists, fashion designers, and curators aged 21 or above. The selection will be carried out by a committee of specialists in the fields of visual arts and fashion.

The dates of the second and third cycles will be announced in fall 2023.
