Renowned for its jaw-dropping landscapes and vistas — just as it is for its mouth-watering food — Lebanon can be considered one of the true embodiments of Mediterranean culture. Taking great pride in the natural wonders that grace its shores and mountains, the Cedar State is by far one of the ultimate destinations to check-out between the fifth and ninth month of the Gregorian calendar. But don’t just take our word for it—look at the slate of internationally acclaimed figures that have made their way in recent weeks, including American DJ Peggy Gou, Palestinian artist Sama’ Abdulhadi, amongst many others.
Still not convinced? Perhaps the idea of experiencing Lebanon’s buzzing techno scene and dancing until the early hours of the morning on the beach should do the trick— if not, then we’re sorry, we probably can’t help.
Whether you already have your flight tickets in hand or find yourself contemplating the possibility of clicking on the purchase button, here’s our definitive list of the best beaches in Lebanon to tick off your list from the moment your feet touch the ground.

First on the list is Tyre, also referred to by its Phoenician name, Sour, where history and tranquility merge into one breathtaking patch of land. Located a little less than two hours south of Beirut, the ancient city is one of the country’s hidden gems, tucked away from the capital’s bustling rhythm and touristy population. In between two visits to the UNESCO-registered Tyre Hippodrome or any other archaeological site present all around the city, a refreshing dip in the deep blue hues of the Mediterranean Sea only feels mandatory, enhancing your overall experience by quite a mile.

Ask any local and they’ll probably agree: Batroun is the unofficial party capital of the country and seasonal home to the most vibrant events and parties Lebanon has in store. A recent host to electronic music event Aegis Festival, the small coastal city, where not much usually happens throughout the year, is a quick getaway for those who live in Beirut, as it is less than a 30-minute drive away from the country’s capital. Expect round-the-clock events and loads of fresh fish to inhale while watching the sunset by the shore. Our favorite spot? Colonel Reef, ideal for any motive, whether you’re looking to work by the sea or to tap toes while sipping on a refreshing cocktail during the weekend.

When life gets tough and crave all the serenity the world has to offer, Byblos is the place to immediately head towards. Squeezed in between a slew of Ancient Greek ruins, the world’s oldest continuously inhabited city is a rare gem where wine-tasting, mezze-eating, and meandering through picturesque alleyways seamlessly intertwine into a mosaic of pure bliss.
