Maison Pyramide Brings Middle Eastern Designers to London

Emerging talent steals the spotlight at Harvey Nichols

Lauched in 2016 by entrepreneurs Giovanina Attieh, Nathalie Mroue and María S. Muñoz, Cairo and Beirut-based Maison Pyramide serves as a design incubator and showroom for some of the most coveted regional brands. Famed for passionately supporting emerging designers and local, sustainable brands, Maison Pyramide has been organising a series of pop-up sales in the Middle East for a while now. But this summer, the region’s favourite showroom is going global. Partnering with Harvey Nichols in London, they’re presenting their largest temporary retail experience outside of their Paris showroom.

“Retail today is about engaging retail experiences and the curation of new and innovative brands to give our customers a real sense of discovery when they come to Harvey Nichols. We are delighted to work on this curation with Maison Pyramide to bring their concept to Europe for the first time,” says Laura Larbalestier, Group Buying Director at Harvey Nichols.

The shop carries a selection of regional and international brands, including ready-to-wear label Nafiska Skourti and Beyoncé co-signed bag designers Okhtein, as well as special guests like Joanna Laura Constantine, Reine, Nadya Dzyak and Magnetic Midnight.

“Consumer behaviour is shifting daily, we have seen it through our series of temporary shops and showroom retail clients, that although quite a few consumers are still keen on the luxury logo, emerging brands are offering a luxury that leading brands can’t offer: freshness. The savvy consumer wants to feel unique in their apparel. Today, we are proud to partner with the iconic Harvey Nichols whom have a history of launching some of the world’s most renowned contemporary brands,” say the co–founders.

And to make things even better, a share of the total proceeds will be redistributed to Elisa Sednaoui’s foundation ‘Funtasia’, which provides learning opportunities for children within local communities in Italy and Egypt.

“I have been a fan and supporter of Maison Pyramide’s work since inception. They are pioneers in the Middle East, bearing on their shoulders the big responsibility to accompany, support and inspire Middle Eastern and international designers, helping them access the “fashion world”. I’m very grateful that they have decided to continue their long-standing commitment to the Funtasia Egypt educational programs by donating proceeds from the sales of this beautiful pop up.” Affirms Elisa Sednaoui.
