Squid Games Season Two is Coming, Here’s What to Expect

Yes, more drama

After having confirmed that a second season will be on its way sooner rather than later, director Hwang Dong-hyuk has just started teasing what to expect next from the Korean series.

The story followed hundreds of cash-strapped contestants taking part in a wickedly sick string of childhood games in order to set themselves free from their debt-riddled existence. With a very tempting prize at key, the deadly stakes made players, as well as viewers, reflect on the real worth and meaning of money and life.

Speaking on a virtual panel held by Entertainment Weekly, the show’s creator just announced which direction Squid Games will take. He also discussed Seong Gi-hun’s character development in the episodes to come.

“In the first season that we saw Gi-hun is a character whose humanity is shown through or exposed in certain situations.” Hwang Dong-hyuk said. “In other words, his humanity is shown through a very passive manner. But I would think that in the second season, what he has learned from the games and his experience in the first season, they will all be put to use in a more active manner.” he added.

The series, which was released earlier this year in September, broke more than one record as it became Netflix’s most-watched program ever. Generating millions with even more hooked, we can’t wait to see what the next set of episodes has in store for us.
