Loewe Taps the First Arab Female Racecar Driver For New Sneaker Campaign

Amna Al-Qubaisi, who earned global recognition as the first Arab female race car driver, has another role to add to her impressive CV: Loewe brand ambassador.

The esteemed Spanish fashion house helmed by British designer JW Anderson tapped the Emirati F3 driver to star in its latest campaign for its new sneaker collaboration with On. Lensed by French photographer Thibaut Grevet, the 23-year-old appears in the new ad wearing the khaki green version of the new sneaker, dubbed the Cloudtilt after the CloudTec® Phase, which is a computer-generated technology that offers midsole cushioning with fewer components for an ultra-lightweight feel. The Loewe x On collaboration marks the first time that the Swiss footwear brand incorporates this technology into one of its designs.

With an outer sole crafted from EVA foam to minimize the use of rubber and an engineered mesh upper made from 99% recycled polyester, the Cloudtilt is the latest effort in the brands’ ongoing commitment to sustainability. What’s more, all packaging is made from 100% recycled industrial materials.

In addition to the khaki green colorway, the new shoe comes in distinct palettes for the two men’s and women’s drops. The first men’s drop on Oct. 12 features all white, all black, lime green, khaki green, and blue, while the women’s comes in lime green, purple rose, and, navy, in addition to monochrome. The second men’s and women’s drop will come out in January 2024, and will feature sand, wild rose, and slate grey colorways alongside a special beet red exclusive to females.

The Loewe x On Cloudtilt campaign marks Al-Qubaisi’s first for a luxury fashion house. She features alongside other athletes, gymnast Yonghon Huh, dancers Roy Kaneza and Hortense de Gromard, BMX rider Cindy Dos Reis, animal flow instructor Stefan Crainic, and Liu Hong, the world champion and Olympic gold medalist race walker.

In the Middle East, the collection will be exclusively available at the LOEWE x On pop-up at Mall of the Emirates from Oct. 12 to 27.
