Six Distinctive Fashion Collaborations We Have Our Eyes On This Year

from versace and roc nation to supreme and margiela

2024 may have just started, but the fashion world has wasted no time in delivering a plethora of captivating collaborations, setting the stage for an exciting year ahead. From high-profile designer partnerships to unexpected creative unions, below, six fashion collaborations poised to make a splash.

Prada x National Geographic

Continuing their dedication to education and culture, Prada has unveiled the latest phase of its collaboration with National Geographic Creative Works alongside the launch of the new Prada Re-Nylon Collection and campaign. Building upon the foundation laid in 2019, National Geographic Creative Works expands upon its initial short film series to delve deeper into the essence of Prada Re-Nylon— the innovative fabric derived from recycled materials like ocean plastics and textile waste. In this second chapter of their creative union, consisting of three captivating episodes, Prada and National Geographic Creative Works explore the underlying motivations behind Prada Re-Nylon. Each episode, led by National Geographic photographers and explorers, focuses on a different region and the unique challenges facing its marine ecosystems, highlighting critical issues in ocean conservation on a global scale.

This collaboration underscores the significance of ocean literacy and the power of knowledge in effecting meaningful change. Through their joint efforts, Prada and National Geographic aim to raise awareness and inspire action to protect our oceans. What’s more, as part of their commitment to sustainability, since July 2023, 1% of the proceeds from the Prada Re-Nylon Collection have supported SEA BEYOND, an educational program launched by Prada Group and UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission. This initiative aims to promote sustainability and ocean literacy, educating young people worldwide about the importance of protecting our oceans and making sure your money goes to a good cause.

Boss x Naomi Campbell
Building on their collaborative synergy since the iconic supermodel’s debut in Boss’s Fall/Winter 2022 global campaign, the brand proudly unveils Naomi x BOSS, a bespoke capsule collection tailored for contemporary travelers. This partnership not only celebrates Campbell’s influential status but also plays a pivotal role in the brand’s strategic expansion in womenswear. Crafted in close collaboration with the model herself, the line boasts a range of laid-back yet iconic essentials, seamlessly integrating modern silhouettes with the brand’s signature tailoring, offering a selection of sophisticated outerwear, adaptable pieces in custom technical fabrics, premium leisure styles, and statement-making footwear. Among the standout looks are a double-breasted, pinstriped gray suit crafted from stretch-infused wool, an updated version of the trench coat, adorned with an all-over leopard print, and an oversized leopard-print tracksuit crafted from tech-spacer jersey fabric. The collab is accompanied by a campaign lensed by photographer Mikael Jansson under the creative direction of Trey Laird, featuring models Georgia Palmer and Alton Mason alongside Campbell herself.

Supreme x MM6 Maison Margiela
It’s a collaboration made in premium streetwear heaven. Leaks confirmed that a Supreme x MM6 Maison Margiela collaboration is in the works for the spring 2024 season. A teaser image for the rumored upcoming collab features the MM6 denomination alongside the ubiquitous Supreme box logo. For now, there isn’t much information on what the partnership will comprise, however, the drop is expected to include a Box Logo Hoodie, skateboard decks “and much more,” according to reliable sources. Over the years, Supreme’s high-fashion partnerships have become among the most anticipated and coveted, spanning creative unions with COMME des GARÇONS and Buberry to Tiffany & Co. and Louis Vuitton.

Ahead of the 17th edition of Art Dubai, luxury jewelry and watch brand Piaget teamed up with Emirati designer Shamsa Alabbar on an exclusive reimagination of its iconic Limelight Gala timepiece. Since 2013, Alabbar has made a name for herself in the contemporary Arabic jewelry landscape by seamlessly blending the ancient codes of the region with modern design sensibilities. Renowned for her graphic pieces where calligraphy and typography converge, Alabbar’s latest endeavor sees her translating her distinctive style onto the dial of a limited-edition Limelight Gala watch. Drawing inspiration from the distinctive Token motif, which has become synonymous with the designer’s jewelry collections, the dial of the timepiece pays tribute to Arabic typography and the mashrabiya. “Piaget has always been a brand that captivated me with its unique designs and exquisite craftsmanship,” said Alabbar in a released statement. “It holds cherished memories of the most significant moments in my life. Whenever I visited the Piaget flagship store at The Dubai Mall, I couldn’t help but be mesmerized by their creations, particularly their watches. The opportunity to design a dial for the Gala watch feels like a surreal dream come true”, she adds. Thecollaboration will be presented at Art Dubai from March 1-3 at Piaget’s stand.
