Four months after Kanye West released one of the most-streamed albums of last year, the musician and converted designer is just about to make the internet melt again.
Kanye took to Instagram to announce his latest collaboration, and it didn’t take much time for the post to become viral. The multi-award-winning artist and creative shared the last stanzas of a legal contract binding himself, American retail giant Gap and Spanish luxury label Balenciaga altogether. The caption-less post rapidly garnered almost half a million likes in less than 24 hours which reveals the amplitude of expectations put into this new groundbreaking partnership.
“It is a vision come true to work with Gap and Demna, the creative director of Balenciaga, to make incredible product available to everyone at all times,” Ye told Vogue.
“YEEZY GAP ENGINEERED BY BALENCIAGA” comes a little over a year after Ye signed an initial 10-year-long deal with Gap back in 2020. And if the upcoming drops happen to be just as successful as the one’s released so far, you can obviously expect resell prices to skyrocket.
If 2021 saw a plethora of collaborations come to life, it seems like 2022 might follow that same route as this holy trinity of big names and brands working together won’t stop them from creating and exploring further options anytime soon.
