Lockdown restrictions might be easing across the world, but the virus is still around. And with its economic effects creating further inequality, one could argue that the worse is still yet to come.
One Humanity Live, a Dubai-produced 24-hour celebrity fundraiser happening today is making major strides to bring artists together and raise funds for Coronavirus relief efforts, with donations going to the Global Gift Foundation, International Red Cross, the Red Crescent, Médecins Sans Frontières and Dubai Care.
Over 150 international stars from the worlds of music, sport, art, fashion and cinema are participating to the live broadcast, including Lebanese musician Ragheb Alama, Lebanese director Nadine Labaki and Iraqi entrepreneur Huda Kattan.
And that’s not all. Five-time Grammy Award winner CeeLo Green is making an appearance, as well as Columbian star Maluma, Indian actress Sonam Kapoor and none other than it-girl of the moment, Dua Lipa.
“One Humanity Live is a 24-hour live charity broadcast that aims to bring together 1 billion dreamers to share their voice and seed their dream for the future as well as raise funds to support our charity partnerships in this time when we need to act together,” OHM Live said in a statement. “The live broadcast will see artists, celebrities, youth ambassadors, activists and like-minded dreamers from all around the world stepping up to shift the narrative of fear and anxiety to optimism, hope and imagination around shared dreams.”
