#RFW

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is making its mark in the realm of fashion next month with its very first fashion week. Organized by the Saudi Fashion Commission, the inaugural Riyadh Fashion Week is set to take place from Oct. 20 to 23 , with 30 Saudi brands expected to take to the runway to showcase their latest ready-to-wear creations for spring 2024.

The four-day-long event will welcome key figures from the fashion industry, including celebrities, buyers, and other stakeholders. In addition to local designs, there will be a showroom featuring established brands and up-and-coming Saudi talent to give local and international buyers a better understanding of what the Kingdom has to offer.

“For the first time ever, we are welcoming the global fashion community to the epicenter of Saudi fashion, here in Riyadh,” said Burak Cakmak, CEO of the Saudi Fashion Commission.

“The event will showcase the best of our creative talent, allowing yet another opportunity for our brands to connect with the world. Whether you join us in person or via the livestream, we can’t wait to highlight what Saudi fashion has to offer,” he added in a released statement.

The labels participating at this year’s edition of Riyadh Fashion Week include contemporary, eveningwear, and ready-to-wear designers such as 1886, Abadia, Adnan Akbar, Arwa Albanawi, Atelier Hekayat, Dar Alhanouf, DAZLUQ, Eman Joharji, Fatima AbdulQader, Hajruss, Hala AlGharabawi, Honayda, JUBB, Kaf by Kaf, Lomar, Mazroud, MD29, Moja Majka, Mona Alshebil, Nabela Nazar, Noble and Fresh, Not Boring, Nour Dhahri, Noura Suliman, Pavone, Tima Abid, Uscita, Yasmina Q, and Yousef Akbar.

The news of Riyadh Fashion Week was initially shared during Paris Men’s Fashion Week and Couture Week last July, where local designers showcased diverse collections from the Saudi 100 Brands program, a mentorship initiative led by the Kingdom’s Fashion Commission.
