Wegz Announces First World Tour With Live Nation

From Alexandria, Egypt to the world!

It was just a few years ago when we used to listen to then-underground musician Wegz, wondering why doesn’t a man of his talent get more recognition.  It was around 2019 when the Alexandrian-born artist really started dropping hits that had us all in a chokehold. With his emotive yet gritty lyrics matched with trap sounds, he put the trap in electro chaabi with an undeniable Egyptian attitude. It was real. From Dorak Gay and Bazet, to TNT and Saleeny, Wegz spoke to the streets, to the youth, to Egypt, and eventually to the world.

It’s been revealed that the Bakht singer will be embarking on a world tour with Live Nation, making him the first Arab artist to go on a global tour with the American entertainment company. The 24-year-old will be hitting the stage at some of the world’s most renowned venues, from London’s Apollo Theater to New York City’s Terminal 5. Starting September 2023, you can find Wegz is set to perform in front of fans in Germany, France, UK, Canada, and the US.

There is no doubt that the artist owes his success to his constant ability to experiment and venture into different genres, while mastering them skillfully and tastefully. He went from creating emotive rap, trap, and drill hits, to setting his sounds into afrobeats, and even collaborating with Egyptian multi-instrumentalist and DJ Ash for a melodic tune titled Amira that will get you thinking about a lover you don’t even have. Here’s to Wegz putting Egypt on the map.
