Ali Latif: The Model Behind the Song of the Summer

Your vacation soundtrack has arrived

Ali Latif Roko c'est le Texas

At just 23-years-old, Tunisian-born model Ali Latif is still navigating his career.

But with a billboard in Times Square as we speak – it’s safe to say he has already left a mark. Latif has walked for brands including Ami, Y/Project and Casablanca, and he’s not ready to stop there. Adding a new string to his bow, Latif just dropped his debut single.

Entitled Roko c’est le Texas, the feel-good rap track is the perfect soundtrack for lazy summer beach days and nighttime drives.

In the song, Latif replicates a sound that was familiar to him growing up—like legendary French rap groups Fonky Family and Scred Connexion—and turns it into a modern anthem about hustling and surviving.

After living on the streets for a few months at the age of 18, music is what ultimately rescued Latif.

Masterfully blending his Tunisian roots with contemporary hip-hop, Latif has now created a distinct sound that balances playful verses with hard-boiled reality.

Directed by Maxime Ellies, Latif’s sun-soaked debut music video includes dreamy images of the sun rising, prayer mats and fast cars, beautifully stitched together over fiery melodies.

We can’t wait to hear more. Meanwhile, watch the video below.
