If you missed out on the first collaboration between Gentle Monster and Maison Margiela (it did sell out within seconds, we don’t blame you) then you will be pleased to know that the South Korean label and Parisian maison are once again teaming up on a range of eyewear following their highly successful joint venture last year. The second collaboration, set to debut online and in stores on March 7, will feature 17 pairs of sunglasses crafted out of artisanal leather and adorned with Margiela’s ubiquitous four white stitches on the temples and a shared logo on the insides just like last time.
Coming in white, black, and slate gray color ways, the new range of genderless shades span a comprehensive range of shapes and silhouettes, and include the MM104, MM106, MM108 and MM115 models with handcrafted leather frames. Much like the first collaboration, the forthcoming collection fuses the inventive codes of the Korean label with the exquisite craftsmanship the storied French house is known for.
The minimalistic new collaboration comes fresh off the heels of the launch of the eyewear brand’s playful Gentle Jelly collection that launched earlier this month with a spectrum of eclectic designs inspired by the candy gummies of the early aughts.
